Create a purchase journal
Create a journal for new purchase documents.

Completing the page reliably
Check the active company or account before entering data. Complete required fields first, then review dates, amounts, references and selections that influence later processing. Inline validation explains which value is missing or invalid; correct that field before trying again. A disabled submit button usually means that required information is incomplete, invalid or still loading.
Submit only once and wait for the confirmation or the destination page. Repeated clicks can create duplicate work when the first request is still being processed. If saving fails, keep the entered values, read the message and correct only the indicated issue. After success, verify the resulting status or record before continuing with a dependent step.
Create a journal to group purchase invoices and credit notes.
Journal number is the required recognisable name used in selections and lists. Description explains its purpose and supports formatted text.
Choose Save. The new journal is not automatically the default; use its details to make it default. Choose a number that clearly differs from other purchase journals.
Before saving
Choose a number that clearly identifies the journal to users entering purchase journals. Description is internal guidance and is not automatically copied to documents. Prefixes and lengths should remain readable and unique as document volumes grow.
After Save, details opens and the journal becomes selectable. No purchase journals are created or changed. On failure, input remains; check the required number and all prefixes and lengths. Billnado warns before leaving unsaved changes.
Frequently asked questions
A new journal cannot be made default in this form; save first and use Default on details. Description can be edited later.
