Manage a payment method
Change a payment method’s name, description and cashbook setting, or delete the method.
Updated on August 26, 2026
The record contains the identifying information and cashbook setting of one payment method. Changes apply when the method is subsequently selected for a payment. You need access to the administration and an active Billnado licence.
Information
| Field or setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | The name shown in payment method selections. |
| Description | Additional formatted guidance about how the method is used. |
| Record transactions in cash book | Indicates that a payment using this method makes a final entry in the cashbook. Billnado displays a warning when the method is selected. |
Important: only change the cashbook setting when you understand the accounting treatment of this payment method. The setting applies to entries for which the method is selected afterwards.
System information
Created On shows when the method was added. Last modified on shows when its information was last saved. Both fields are read-only.
Changes and deletion
After you change a field, Reset and Save appear. Reset restores the last saved information; Save stores the new name, description and cashbook setting.
When there are no unsaved changes, Delete method is available. It requests double confirmation and permanently deletes the payment method.
Important: deletion cannot be undone from this page. Check that the method is no longer needed for new payment entries first.
