Managing the Peppol integration and receiving
Check whether Peppol sending is available and register or remove the administration for receiving e-invoices.
Updated on August 26, 2026
The PEPPOL network page shows whether the active administration can send sales documents through Peppol and whether the business is registered to receive e-invoices. You need access to the administration and an active Billnado licence. Billnado must also have confirmed that the business is the rightful owner of the VAT number before you can manage the registration.
Access after verification
If ownership of the VAT number has not yet been confirmed, PEPPOL access is temporarily unavailable appears. The sending and receiving statuses and the registration buttons are then unavailable. Contact support so they can review the company details and complete the verification.
Understanding the statuses
| Section | Meaning |
|---|---|
| PEPPOL Sending | ENABLED means the administration can send sales documents through Peppol. With Powered Off, sending is unavailable. This status is informational on this page; registering for receiving does not change it. |
| European PEPPOL receiving | Registered means the business’s European Peppol identifier is registered with Billnado for receiving invoices and credit notes. |
| National PEPPOL Receiving | For a Belgian business, Registered means the Belgian Peppol identifier based on the VAT number is also registered with Billnado. A separate national registration is not created for businesses outside Belgium. |
Not registered means Billnado does not manage an active receiving registration for that identifier. The European and national statuses can therefore differ.
Registering to receive e-invoices
Choose Register with PEPPOL to register the business for receiving through Billnado. Billnado first checks whether the Peppol identifier already exists. For a Belgian business, the national and European identifiers are registered; for a business outside Belgium, only the European identifier is registered. The registration supports receiving Peppol invoices and credit notes.
Important: registration changes the business’s external Peppol registration. Use this action only when Billnado should be the software provider that receives these documents.
After successful registration, Billnado reloads the statuses. The applicable receiving cards then show Registered. The action does not turn PEPPOL Sending on or off.
When the VAT number is already registered
The same Peppol identifier cannot be registered again through another software provider.
- If Billnado reports that the VAT number is registered through another software provider, ask that provider to remove or transfer the existing registration before trying again.
- If Billnado reports that the identifier is already registered through its own software, contact support. Include the displayed Peppol identifier so support can investigate the existing registration.
Unsubscribing from receiving
Choose Unsubscribe from receiving to remove the receiving registrations managed by Billnado. Billnado deregisters both the European identifier and, for Belgian businesses, the national identifier when they were registered through Billnado. A registration belonging to another software provider is not removed there.
Warning: after unsubscribing, Billnado will no longer receive new Peppol invoices or credit notes for this registration. Unsubscribing does not change the availability of Peppol sending.
After completion, the receiving cards show Not registered.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I send while receiving is not registered?
Sending and receiving have separate statuses. PEPPOL Sending determines whether sales documents can be sent. The European and national receiving cards show whether Billnado is registered as the receiving Peppol provider.
Why does the national status remain Not registered?
A separate national registration is created only for Belgian businesses. Only the European registration applies to a business in another country.
